Distributive Property

What is distributive property?

Distributive property is to separate or break an expression or equation into parts. The distributive property makes numbers easier to work with. In algebra distributive property means to expand. Distributive Property helps you multiply a sum by multiplying each side separately and then at the end add the products. Distributive Property can help with mental math.

You can also distribute like this:

4x53
I will multiply 4x50 which equals 200
Then 4x3 which equals 12 and then add the products of both the numbers which is 212. Distributive property makes expressions easier to solve.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE!

4x27
So first I will multiply 4x20 which equals 80 and then 4x7 which equals 28. Then I add them together to get 108, which is my final answer.

50(2+2)=?
40(3+6)=?
7x52=?
6x24=?
