Three "individual" pages, linked from your boat page or other pages that you have created.
  • For example, if your boat page was "Dogs," you could create a page called "Golden Retriever" and from link from there to a new one called "Hunting"
  • Complete information, with links to references
  • Including at least one image or video per page.
  • (This would be a great place to find connections for the start-of-year project you already did)

Division!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_(mathematics)

Division in proportions is actually very important. You need division because when you need to work out the proportion for X you will need to divide.

Example:

Mary is able to make 7 cookies in 13 minutes. She has decided to go to a fair and sell some of her cookies but the fair begins in 1 and a half hours. How many cookies can she make during that time?

Mary can make 7 cookies in 13 minutes----

MathsDivision.jpg Now you have made your proportion. This is where the division comes in place.

I will help you through the proportion until we have to use division. You take the two number diagonal from each other and multiply (7x90=630). With 630 you have to divided by 13 and this is where the division comes in.

To divided you need to see how many times 13 is able to go into 630. You are allowed to do this in your head or with a calculator, but always double check your answer to make sure you are correct. 13 divided by 630 is equal to 48, so Mary will be able to make 48 cookies in 1 and a half hours. Another way of saying what multiplication is, is "inverse multiplication". By inverse multiplication I mean, what is 12/3=4 and 3x4=12.

Multiplication!!!!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiplication

Multiplication in proportions is really the same as division. You need division because when you need to work out the proportion for X you will need to multiply two of didgits and with that answer you will need to divide but we are focusing on multiplication so, we will work on that.

This is where the multiplication comes in place.

I will help you through the proportion whilst using multiplication. You take the two numbers that are diagonal from each other and multiply (7x90=630). For multiplication you will need to multiply 7 times 90, 90, 7 times! Which will give you the answer of 630, and that is the multiplication part of a proportion. And to finish off the problem-- 13 divided by 630 is equal to 48, so Mary will be able to make 48 cookies in 1 and a half hours.

This is another quick example I got from Wikipedia to show multiplication simplified.
